Binds a caller-supplied mirror pool to the works lane. Pass the result to searchWorks for the shared non-throwing envelope, or to resolveWorkIdentity as the record side of an identity match.
Mirrors are tried in order and only a throw advances to the next one, so a mirror that legitimately matched nothing ends the search instead of being papered over by the next mirror's hits. Every mirror that failed first is named in the page's warnings.
Throws nothing here: an empty pool or an unusable origin surfaces as a config error from search, which searchWorks reports as status: "disabled".
