Deduplicates records across catalogs. Records collapse on the strongest shared identifier — ISBN-13, then DOI, then content hash — and fall back to normalized title, lead author, year, and format. The first record for a key wins field-by-field; later duplicates fill only what it left unset, so a catalog with sparse metadata enriches rather than overwrites. Provenance, warnings, and the highest-confidence identity are unioned.
