searchWorksAcross(sources, query?): Promise<{ items: readonly WorkRecord[]; results: readonly WorksResult[]; }>

Searches several catalogs concurrently and merges the results. Every source's envelope is returned so a single failing catalog degrades the merge instead of failing it.
